Jamie Eldridge Earns Prominent Westborough Endorsements for State Senate Campaign

WESTBOROUGH - Adding to the strong local support that State Representative Jamie Eldridge (D-Acton) has earned across the Middlesex & Worcester district, two prominent Westborough officials have added their names to the list of Eldridge supporters.

George Thompson, Chair of the Westborough Board of Selectmen, and Timothy Dodd, a Westborough Selectman, public school teacher, and registered Republican, have announced their endorsements of Jamie Eldridge to succeed Pam Resor in the State Senate.

"Jamie Eldridge will be a terrific advocate and partner in the State Senate for Westborough," noted Board of Selectmen Chairman Thompson.  "Jamie has many impressive accomplishments on his record, and Westborough would benefit from his leadership and independent voice."

"Regardless of Party affiliation, what Westborough needs is someone who will deliver results for our community," added Selectman Dodd, who crossed Party lines to support Eldridge.  "Jamie has proven that he can and will deliver results for Westborough on local aid, public safety, job creation, education, and the environment."

Representative Eldridge responded, "I am very pleased to have earned the endorsements of these two leaders in their community.  As my supporters and I have knocked on thousands of doors in Westborough, Marlborough, and across the district, I have found that voters are responding enthusiastically to our positive message of investing in our communities to make the district a safe, affordable, and vibrant place to raise a family or start a small business."

Eldridge has earned the endorsements of about four dozen City Councilors, Selectmen, and School Committee members from all 14 communities across the Middlesex & Worcester district, including Westborough Board of Selectmen Vice Chair Leigh Emery.  Eldridge also enjoys the endorsements of Congressman Jim McGovern, State Senator Pam Resor, former State Senator Bob Durand, Worcester District Attorney Joe Early Jr. and Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone.  Voters can learn more about Jamie Eldridge's background, record, positions, and vision for the district on his website, www.JamieEldridge.com.
